One of my clients, we’ll call her Nancy, came to me seeking help for recurrent bouts of vertigo which had recently worsened.

Here's her health history in her own words:

"Have had this off and on for 10 years. It flares up when times are stressful, usually nothing more than a day or two. Had an extreme case in 2014 that I ended up at a neurologist at UCLA. Because I also had aural fullness in just one ear and had a couple of 'drop attacks,' I was diagnosed with a hybrid Meniere's-migraine type disease.

The night before Mother's Day I was totally fine but when I got up on Sunday the world was SPINNING. I couldn't even get out of bed.  Also had a migraine.  Had to sit totally still with an eye mask on.  That lasted for 4-5 days until my husband called our internist and he prescribed anti-nausea and migraine meds. Those helped blunt the symptoms, but I had to sit with an eye mask on for 7-10 days. It got progressively better but then got worse again. For probably 2-3 weeks I couldn't look at a screen for more than 5 mins without feeling like I was going to puke.  It got better, but I still need to be careful and not overdo it."

During our energy healing session, I connected with the innate wisdom of Nancy's inner ear and vestibular system. They showed me a version of her that was about 8 years old, doing the best it could to “tune out the world” of her dysfunctional family. Her body’s coping mechanism was working, when she got vertigo attacks she had to lay down and disengage from the world, but it wasn’t the healthiest way to do that. Nancy then shared with me that she had a series of ear infections as a child, requiring multiple procedures. She also noted that her vertigo worsens with stress, especially related to family matters.

Through energy healing, I communicated to her ears that she is now an adult with more sophisticated boundaries, who is able to take care of herself in better ways rather than just “tuning things out” (which is often our only option as small children, when we can’t escape our family any other way). Her ears needed reassurance that she would stop when things got overwhelming and take herself somewhere peaceful and quiet. Nancy agreed to this new approach. I confirmed that her ears would start the process of draining excess pressure in the inner ear and help her remain balanced and centered as long as she kept up her promise to slow down and stop when life became too much.

To restore her ears to a natural, healthy state, we needed a blueprint for healthy consciousness. Sometimes, body parts that have been unwell for a long time forget how to function in a state of wellness. When this happens, we can “borrow” this consciousness blueprint from another body part or another person. Her ears specifically chose Simone Biles as their model. I thought to myself, “Well that’s a good pick! I’m sure she has an amazing vestibular system to use as a model.” When I told her, Nancy immediately resonated with this choice, recalling how inspired she was when Simone Biles withdrew from the Tokyo finals to prioritize her mental health. Not only had her body picked someone with excellent vestibular function, she also chose someone with strong boundaries who prioritizes self-care!

Two days later, Nancy texted, “Felt the most subtle of draining yesterday and didn’t have any vertigo this a.m. YAY!”

Nancy's story underscores the profound connection between our physical and mental health. I will say it again, real medicine is mind-body medicine, healing is a coordinated shift in body, mind and spirit, and the work I do supports this type of healing for everyone.

If you’re having any sort of long standing medical issue, I invite you to book a time to chat with me and let’s see if we can get you on the road to true healing.
